Almaz vehicle unveiling on Isle of Man

Senior executives from Excalibur Almaz (EA), including President Art Dula and Executive Vice President Leroy Chiao, held a briefing on the company's plans for a wide range of Japanese corporate executives and government officials on November 9, 2009. The event was co-sponsored by EA's partners, Japan Manned Space Systems Corp. (JAMMS) and Tokyo-based Excalibur KK, attracting more than 80 participants active in the space exploration industry for the symposium and reception.
The two executives discussed EA's plans for orbital flights beginning in 2013. There was a lively Q&A session on EA's plans for privately funded space exploration and the opportunities for Japanese companies. Dr. Chiao also briefed the group on the outcomes of the prestigious Augustine Commission, of which he served as a member of the panel.
